Ben Nevis - Guided Walk

Ben Nevis, May 2008Chest pounding.................cloud swirling.......the wind has picked up.................breaking through the cloud......................how much longer..................some ruins ahead........it's the observatory.....we've made it..............big grins...................on top of Scotland's and Britain's highest mountain......Ben Nevis!.................. I've climbed the highest mountain in Britain.........................

This could be you or a present for someone else this year as featured at number 43 in the Sunday Times best 50 days out........

At just under 4,500 feet, Ben Nevis dominates the skyline above the town of Fort William on the west coast of Scotland. . We follow the old pony track, used to serve the old weather observatory, built in 1883, the ruins of which still stand on the summit.

See Ben Nevis webcam for pictures of the "Ben" now

An ascent and descent of Ben Nevis takes between 7 - 9 hours, moving at a steady pace. The track is rough but achievable.

See wikipedia, the online encyclopedia for lots more on this great mountain.......
