Betws-Y- Coed meaning "Prayer Chapel in the Woods" is a beautiful village set in Snowdonia National Park. Its beauty attracted Victorian travelers and in particular many artists, inspired by the beautiful views.
Situated on the historically important London to Holyhead road, it also served as a stop for travelers passing through. Betws still retains its charm and now caters for the 21st century visitor. It's not a place you will forget. The village and surrounding areas provide a wide range of accommodation from hotels and guest houses to traditional bed and breakfasts and self catering. - Bunkhouse - The Vagabond - Newly opened by the owner of the world famous "Gite Le Vagabond" in Chamonix and geared up for outdoor activists, including it's own climbing wall!

There are a number of villages and towns close by, which provide further accommodation. We've provided links for you to look at in each area.
Llanwrst - The historical market town of the Conwy valley, about 3 miles from Betws-Y-Coed.
- Y Dolydd/Meadowsweet Hotel - A 3 star hotel (Wales Tourist Board), situated conveniently within LLanwrst.
Ogwen Valley. Dividing the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges.
- Gwern Gof Isaf Farm - Campsite, and Bunk House on an 750 acre National Trust farm in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales
Tyn-Y-Groes - This village is set in the Conwy valley about 12 miles from Betws-Y-Coed
- The Groes Inn - The first licensed house in Wales (1573), this 4 star inn and hotel is a luxury retreat after a day in the mountains

Travel to Betws-Y-Coed - By train
Virgin Trains run services from London Euston to Llandudno Junction. Journey time approximately 3 and a half hours. From here you take a taxi to Betws-Y-Coed.
- Friday service leaves Euston 17:21 getting into Llandudno junction at 20:44.
- Earlier service leaves 15:49 getting into Llandudno junction at 18:49
- Sunday service leaves Llandudno junction at 17:19, arriving in London Euston at 21:59. The majority of our activities and courses finish in time to allow people to catch this service, but please check when booking with us. Note: Train times valid to 10 June, 2006.

Travel to Betws-Y-Coed By Car
From Southern England.
- From M25, take M40 to Birmingham and M42
- From M42 (Junction 3A), head North to Junction 7A with M6
- Take M6 North to Junction 10a for M54
- There is a service station just past this junction on the M6, which is a good half way stop. You can continue on the M6 and come off at the next junction (11) and follow signs for the M54, if you like.
- Follow M54 to Telford, this then turns into the A5
- Follow the A5 all the way to Betws-Y-Coed, passing around Shrewsbury, through Llangollen, Corwen and Pentrefoelas, before arriving in Betws-Y-Coed
- Journey time from London about 5 hours
From Northern England.
- Travel to M6, junction 20a with M56 for North Wales
- Follow M56 to end where it turns into the A5117.
- Follow this to the A55.
- Follow A55 to Junction 19 with A470 (Landudno Junction)
- Follow A470 and directions to Betws-Y-Coed, passing though Llanwrst.
